First Impressions
As we unbox the NR200P V2, the latest iteration of Cooler Master’s highly popular mini-ITX case, it’s immediately clear that this is a product designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind. The sleek, compact form factor is striking, making it a perfect candidate for a stylish and space-saving build. The case’s exterior is meticulously crafted, with clean lines and a modern design that can effortlessly blend into any setup, from minimalist workstations to elaborate gaming rigs.
One of the standout features that catches the eye is the inclusion of multiple panels: a tempered glass side panel and a well-ventilated steel panel. This thoughtful inclusion offers builders the flexibility to choose between showcasing their internal components or prioritizing airflow, depending on their specific needs. The tempered glass panel is particularly impressive, with a slight tint that adds a touch of sophistication while still providing a clear view of the internal hardware.
Upon closer inspection, the NR200P V2 reveals several enhancements over its predecessor. The interior layout has been slightly reworked to optimize space utilization, making the assembly process more intuitive and less cramped. The support for vertical GPU mounting is a game-changer for those looking to create a visually stunning build without compromising on performance, however this was also present in the original version of the NR200P.
The cooling options in the NR200P V2 are robust, with support for up to four fans and compatibility with multiple radiator sizes, ensuring that even the most heat-intensive builds can be kept cool. The cable management features have also been improved, with ample tie-down points and routing options that help maintain a clean and organized interior.
The case currently only comes in black, unlike its predecessor which included unique colours like purple, orange, pink, blue, and white.
Overall, the NR200P V2 makes a strong first impression with its blend of style, functionality, and thoughtful design improvements. It’s evident that Cooler Master has listened to the community’s feedback and implemented changes that enhance both the building experience and the final aesthetic. This case is poised to be a favourite among mini-ITX enthusiasts looking to build a powerful yet compact system.
Our Build
Building in the NR200P V2 with these high-end components was an exercise in precision and careful planning. The compact dimensions of the case meant that every millimetre counted, especially with the formidable 4070TI SUPER Aorus Master in the mix. This GPU is a beast in terms of performance, and its substantial size just barely fit into the case, making it a tight but successful squeeze.
GPU Installation:
The 4070TI SUPER Aorus Master was the most difficult component to be installed. Given its size, we knew it would be a close fit, and indeed, it required meticulous manoeuvring to get it in place. The vertical GPU mount made the process much easier, allowing for a snug fit without compromising on airflow. The end result was a visually stunning display through the tempered glass panel, showcasing the GPU’s RGB lighting.
CPU and Cooling:
Next up was the Intel Core i7-14700K, a powerful processor that demanded an equally robust cooling solution. The 240mm Cooler Master Atmos was up to the task, fitting perfectly into the top of the NR200P V2. The cooler’s sleek design complemented the overall aesthetic, and the installation was straightforward thanks to the case’s easy to move design. The ample space for the radiator and fans ensured that the CPU would remain cool even under heavy loads.
Motherboard and Cable Management:
The B760I Aorus Pro from Gigabyte was the backbone of our build, providing the necessary features and connectivity for a high-performance system. Installing the motherboard was smooth, with plenty of clearance for the RAM and easy access to all the connectors. One of the highlights of the NR200P V2 is its improved cable management system. With strategic tie-down points and ample routing options, we managed to keep the interior clean and organized, ensuring unobstructed airflow.
Final Impressions:
Despite the challenges of fitting such high-end components into a mini-ITX case, the NR200P V2 proved to be an excellent choice. The careful design and thoughtful features made the building process more manageable, and the final build not only looks stunning but also performs exceptionally well. The combination of the 4070TI SUPER Aorus Master and the 14700K provides top-tier gaming and productivity performance, while the Cooler Master Atmos ensures efficient cooling.
While the case may look well and truly packed, it could have housed more! With space for two 120mm fans in the bottom, this case could accommodate even more airflow! And with the size of some GPU’s from companies such as Gigabyte and MSI, you could even fit some larger, more powerful cards in! Such as the RTX 4090, and RTX 4080 SUPER.
In conclusion, the NR200P V2 handled our ambitious build with ease, showcasing its capability to accommodate powerful components in a compact form factor. This case is perfect for enthusiasts looking to build a high-performance system without sacrificing style or space.
