Unboxing Experience

The Sharkoon SGH50 comes boxed in a high quality, custom designed cardboard box. The packaging clearly features images of the headset, alongside other key information such as the specs of the headphones, both colour options for the headphones (Black and White), a description of the product in over 10 languages, and instructions for recycling.

The box comes adorned with Sharkoon branding, which allows it to stand out. When unboxing the headphones, you are first presented with a box of replacement ear cups, and the headset itself. The headset has detachable cables, and a detachable microphone, both of which are in the box.

Quality

During our exploration of the Sharkoon SGH50, we were consistently impressed by its high-quality features, particularly considering its competitive price point. The SGH50 boasts Hi-Res Audio certification, meaning it can reproduce frequencies beyond the range of typical headsets. This translates to a richer, more detailed soundscape, allowing you to pinpoint footsteps in games or savour the intricacies of your favourite music.

Beyond the impressive audio chops, the SGH50 offered a build quality that felt reassuringly sturdy. The comfortable padding lived up to the hype, allowing for extended gaming sessions without fatigue. We were also particularly fond of the inclusion of two sets of ear pads, letting you customize the fit and sound profile based on your preference.

Features

The SGH50 isn’t just about boasting impressive audio quality. It’s packed with features designed to enhance your gaming and entertainment experience. The SGH50 goes the extra mile by providing two sets of ear pads. One pair is crafted from plush synthetic leather for a luxurious feel, while the other utilizes a hybrid material that combines breathability with some leather padding. This lets you choose between comfort for long sessions or a tighter fit for improved sound isolation.

The SGH50 also boasts a detachable microphone, perfect for situations where you only need headphones. It also features a modular cable system with a built-in volume controller. This allows you to easily switch between devices or use an extension cable for maximum reach, providing a customized setup for your specific needs.

Sharkoon SGH50

Verdict

The Sharkoon SGH50 thoroughly impressed us. It delivers high-fidelity audio that punches above its weight class, thanks to Hi-Res Audio certification and a well-balanced soundscape. The detachable microphone ensures crystal-clear communication, and the feature set, including dual ear pads and a modular cable system, offers impressive flexibility and customization options. Whether you’re a gamer seeking an immersive audio experience or an audiophile looking for a comfortable and detailed listening experience, the SGH50 is a fantastic option. We loved it, and we think you will too.

When comparing the SGH50 to its little brother, the Sharkoon B1, the SGH50 is a large improvement! Featuring higher quality audio, a comfier fit, and overall better spec list, we love this headset as much as the legendary B1! You can view more on the SGH50 here!
